Hi my name is Robert Hodgson.

This web site is designed to supplement some of the other well done aluminum "Pepsi Can" type alcohol stove construction web sites and possibly give you some ideas on building what works best for you.

In 2005, I was flying Southwest Airlines and their policy at the time was no fuel container or STOVE that had ever had fuel in it could be shipped in either carryon or in checked luggage. This presented a problem, since I would have to mail, ship, or buy new each time I flew on vacation. Living in New Jersey I normally fly out West to backpack. So I decided to build some stoves that were such a low cost that they I would not feel the financial pain if confiscated on the return.

I have built around 50 stoves of different types. Being an engineer, I spend many hours reading different web pages in an attempt to build my stoves. As a tinkerer, I have figuring out a few clarifications and simplifications as well as a few improved designs that I have seen nowhere else.

I am most proud of  GEAR TOP STOVE  and the WINDSCREEN WITH "V" SPOKES designs.  These are easy to build, light,  and work very well.

Alcohol stoves can be dangerous so follow all instructions of the construction web sites carefully or you better learn to "Drop and Roll".

I am also proud of the various pot stands that I have built. Each has it's own advantages and disadvantages.  It just depends on what is important to you.

On the above tabs select the stove type or pot stand that you are interested in for more information.

The Bible of stove information is at the Zenstoves web site below. This person has done a super job and has all types of stove designs discussed.

I do not endorse any ads on the pages you are viewing.  This is the price one pays for a free web site.
